African American author and scholar, Carter G. Woodson, established Black History Week in 1926? Later, as part of the nation’s bicentennial, Black History Week was changed to Black History Month.
In PR History: Moss Kendrix was a PR and marketing consultant who promoted African American visibility and tried to affect a positive portrayal of blacks in advertising.
Kendrix was the first African American with a major marketing account, Coca Cola.

A new and exciting party has been added this year to kick off the conference.
On Wednesday, April 11th, PRAM is going to host a kick-off party, which will also be an opportunity to honor some of our distinguished members.
Invitations for the party will go out soon and all conference attendees will be invited to attend.
We look forward to our January meeting every year, as we are able to recognize our incredible peers AND raise money for our scholarship fund. January’s meeting will be Tues., Jan. 17 and held at Lake Terrace Convention Center. If you have not RSVP’d, do so today! Click here.
