Dr. Garrett serves at the executive director of Homes of Hope for Children. As achild Michael was blessed along with his two sisters to live and grow up at a Christianchildren’s home in Louisiana. In the summer of 2006 he came to south Mississippi withthe passion and vision to build a children’s home ministry that would serve the needs ofhurting children in the area. Over the past four years the ministry has grown from a visionto a reality. Homes of Hope for Children is a debt free ministry with a 42 acre campus.Currently the ministry has two cottages which provide a home for 14 boys and girls. DESCRIPTION:The Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM) is now accepting entries for the 2011 PRism Awards to honor outstanding efforts in the marketing and public relations field! The competition is open to all PRAM members who are interested in showcasing their work and placing their efforts in the spotlight.  Oprah Winfrey once said\, “Good luck happens when preparedness meets opportunity.”  The PRAM PRisms is your chance make your own luck and spotlight your great work from this past year!  The PRism awards began in 2003 as a way to honor and recognize outstanding work in the field of public relations by professionals within the state of Mississippi. The awards are judged by professionals outside the geographical boundaries of the Southern Public Relations Federation -- Mississippi\, Alabama\, Florida\, and Louisiana. The highest award honor goes to the PRism winners\, followed by Awards of Excellence and Certificates of Achievement.  Overall\, the judges will honor one “Best of Show” will select two entries for the “Judge's Choice” Awards.  The deadline for entries is: Thursday\, January 21st\, 2011\, 5:00 p.m. To enter\, visit www.pramprisms.org and follow the seven easy steps in the online entry system. Entries should be submitted via the PRism online system\, which allows you to enter your programs and projects\, manage your entries\, pay for your submissions\, and pay for your duplicate awards after the ceremony. Once you complete your online award submission\, this only puts you into our database. You must still mail your official award submission to the address provided on the Web site.   REMEMBER: You must follow the rules and regulations precisely to be considered for an award.  The PRAM VP for Awards will be available if you have any questions.  All entries must reflect work (published\, printed\, presented\, etc.) between January 1\, 2010 and December 31\, 2010. Entry fees are $45 for each entry and $40 each for three or more.  Student entry fees  are $20 for each entry.  Entry fees will not be billed or refunded. All entries received without accompanying fees will be ineligible for judging.      Duplicate awards may be ordered for a limited time following the awards ceremony in April. Duplicate awards for PRisms are $70 each\, Awards of Excellence are $45 each\, and certificates are $5 each.  You  will be able to contact Shannon Coker at pramprisms@gmail.com to order duplicates.
